Community Campus Partnership
Since 2000, the Housing Partnership has worked with the University of North Florida's Nursing Department to increase access to health care for residents of the Pine Forest neighborhood. Together, we address social, cultural, environmental and physical determinants of health, and educate new nurses for culturally sensitive and community-responsive practice.
Nursing students have conducted health screenings at neighborhood and church-related meetings and events. Because students are assigned to one community for more than two years, they have a unique opportunity to build trust, forge relationships and make a greater difference in the health and lives of residents.
Our family thanks and appreciates all you have done for us. Without your help, we could not get the work done to our house that really needed to be done. The workers did a very good job.
