A wheelchair can offer mobility, but few houses, particularly older ones, provide the accessibility needed by people who use wheelchairs. Removing the obstacles that prevent a person from safely leaving their homes or even moving from room to room is the goal of our handicapped modification services.
From building wheelchair ramps and enlarging doorways to modifying bathrooms and kitchens, the Housing Partnership helps approximately 70 qualified homeowners each year move more freely through life. We are able to do this with the invaluable assistance of the City of Jacksonville Disabled Services Division, Youthbuild, the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors, the U.S. Navy United Service Organization and volunteer construction workers.
It is with sincere gratitude that my husband and I thank you and your colleagues for the wonderful wheelchair ramp you built on our house. It has made a huge difference in my husband’s mobility.
